Falköping Träindustri is a leading manufacturer of funeral coffins and urns. They have now further strengthened their market position by launching a revitalized product range.
This was an extensive design project with the aim of improving the product range in terms of ergonomics, modernity, sustainability, efficiency and customer experience.
The project started with reviewing the entire range, understanding the business context, get knowledge in the sales process and customer situation, understanding the logistic chain, sustainability ambitions, manufacturing process and more. This resulted in deep insights in the business, and the specific characteristics of the product type.
The range was made more efficient by applying a modular approach, and design changes were made to improve ergonomics for all parts of the usage cycle. The design was modernized and made more cohesive, which resulted in coffins and urns now being more clearly linked to each other in terms of design. We introduced new colour schemes and product names to further improve the customer understanding of the range. Design adjustments were made to all products, and we also designed new wooden urns and ceramic urns. The result is a modern, sustainable and ergonomic product.
