Drester Flow by Hedson

Hedson Technologies and their brand Drester has a long and proud tradition of innovation. With the development and design of Drester Flow, they now take a new interesting step towards configured product solutions and new market opportunities.

Drester Flow is a fully automated and energy-efficient unit that is revolutionizing the wheel washing workflow in workshops and wheel storages. It is sustainable with its unique closed-loop water treatment that cleans the water and reduces the water consumption significantly.

The design challenge was to transform this technology intensive unit with all its moving parts, control cabinets and different functional parts, to a cohesive unit that clearly communicates its purpose, functionality and flow directions.

With insights in market aspects, customer context, user needs and competitor solutions, we were able to create a design that could strengthen Hedson’s market-leading position further.

The design is characterized by the tunnel shape and the eye-catching portals that indicates a flow direction. The grid front creates transparency and visibility that makes monitoring and operation easy for the user. Functional units are integrated or semi-built into the tunnel to create visual order. A handheld control unit was chosen for best usability.
